Jon's week includes 4 days of being a doctor, 1 day of flying in an F-16 or F-15, and weekends off. His dream come true and I have to admit that he looks pretty sexy in his flight suit!

Lindsay's 5th Birthday!
Lindsay turned 5 on July 18th. We had a fun family day to celebrate. Jon's brother Kirk and his wife Tanya came to visit from Gainesville, Florida. They have 2 kids, Finley and Noelle. Lindsay enjoyed playing with her cousins on her birthday.
We started the day off with opening a couple presents and swimming in the backyard. In the evening, Lindsay wanted to go to Chuck E. Cheese (which is in Pensacola...1 hour away). We didn't feel like driving for an hour, so we talked her into going to the mall where they have a carousel and an arcade that is just as good as Chuck E. Cheese. She had tons of fun there!
We came home to open more presents and eat her requested Dora cake. With every present she opened, she would say.."I love it, it's beautiful!." It's hard to believe that my little Lindsay is a big 5-year-old! When we asked her how it felt to be 5 years old, she said, "I feel much bigger!"

Florida's Pests!
There are TONS of bugs here in Florida. I think everyone I know has a "pest guy." I found this big spider attached to my barbecue. I hate spiders!

Happy 4th of July!
Our Independence day was full of fun! The night before, we drove to Alabama to get the "good" (aka illegal) fireworks. When we walked into the store, we couldn't contain our excitement. There were fireworks we had never seen before! We wish we had our camera with us! :(
The morning of the 4th, we went to our ward breakfast. We then spent the rest of the day lighting off smoke bombs, bottle rockets, and lots of others.
In the evening we had lots of friends over (and the missionaries too) for our firework show. We started off with some pizza, veggies, and watermelon and then headed outside. We lit off around 100 fireworks. We had about 30 or so that shot into the air and had huge explosions. It was incredible. Jon and I agreed that they were the best fireworks we had ever purchased!
We were so busy lighting fireworks and trying to keep kids from blowing themselves up that we didn't snap any pics at night...bummer. But here are some of the pics from our daytime activities.

Biker Anna
Our 19-month-old Anna loves to be outside on her "bike." She found Tyler's bike helmet and managed to put it on all by herself...she even strapped it herself. She is one smart chica.

New York
We did some sightseeing as well. We took the kids to Niagra Falls and they thought that was really cool! We toured Palmyra and saw many church history sights. Jon and I have been to Palmyra before, but it was extra fun to share our amazing church history with our kids. We were able to visit the Palmrya temple and do a session. We went to the Sacred Grove where Jon's brother Steve blessed their new baby boy, Caleb. What an awesome experience!
Jon's favorite part of the vacation was getting to golf with his dad, brother, and cousins. We flew out of the Rochester, NY airport and on the way home, we volunteered to give up our seats for some travel vouchers on Delta. We spent the night in downtown Rochester in a hotel paid for by Delta and flew out the next day. They gave us two hotel rooms, so the kids had one and we took the other. It was awesome. It just happened to be "Taste of Rochester" that night right outside our hotel, so we got a very inexpensive dinner as well.
All in all, it was a good trip. Tyler cried when we left because he had so much fun there. He told me today that he didn't feel like doing chores because of all the playing he did at the reunion. He just wanted to play all day!

Backyard Pool
Okay, I absolutely LOVE having a pool in our backyard! When we first saw this house, I thought for sure that I would hate the pool and that one of my kids would drown. However, I LOVE it! Tyler and Lindsay are so entertained in the pool. Lindsay wears a life jacket and Tyler is like a little fish. So, I put Anna down for her nap and then the kids swim and I get lots of stuff done...like blogging! It is so great!
